Hope not Hate was founded in 2004 to help build communities that are inclusive, celebrate shared identities and are resilient to hate. The organization uses research, education and public engagement to challenge mistrust and racism.
The organization also campaigns against right-wing activities in Europe, such as the attempt to block humanitarian work in the Mediterranean. Recently, Hope not Hate have raised awareness on this activity so as to protect the lives of thousands of refugees. Hope not Hate is also very active in British politics, standing against parties that encourage xenophobia and islamophobia.
The team that work in the organization prioritises working in communities, talking to local people in order to empower them.
Since it was founded, Hope not Hate has become one of the largest organizations against extremism in the UK.
